Fukang joined the lab in 2023 and is co-advised by Profs. Ye Zhao, Danfei Xu, and Yue Chen. He is supported by the IRIM fellowship. His research focuses on reinforcement learning for humanoid robots. His broader interests lie at the intersection of control, learning, and planning, with the goal of enabling humanoids to perform flexible and cooperative locomotion and manipulation tasks in unstructured environments. Fukang aims to develop novel algorithms that allow robots to assist, collaborate with, and liberate people in performing activities of daily living. Outside of his research, Fukang loves getting outdoors—exploring nature through hiking, birding, fishing, climbing trees, and more, as well as growing flowers and plants. Overall, Fukang enjoys staying in touch with nature!
